We’re a news platform with the look and feel of social media, the rigor of traditional newsrooms and a focus on local coverage.
Today is our soft launch (!), and we’d like to invite you to sign up for our waitlist.
What is Forth?
We want to better inform the world.
To start, we’re launching locally.
We want to provide this generation with a platform that speaks to them by delivering news they care about all in one place by reporters you can trust.
Forth is a platform with journalism in its DNA (both co-founders are journalists). What that means for you is you can trust the information on the platform. All journalists are vetted before they can post on Forth; our format offers a window into the reporting process; and we don’t rely on algorithms that elevate clickbait or the salacious.
Forth is curated by humans for humans.
What does Forth cover?
We’re launching in the Upper East Side because it’s a community we both know and love. That means anyone living in the UES can expect to get updates on their community throughout the day.
We’ll be launching local coverage elsewhere, and national verticals in the weeks and months to come.
What makes you different from what’s out there?
There are four main reasons:
- Only (trustworthy) journalists can post on Forth
- We will feature both community and national updates
- We tell stories in a threaded format
- No clickbait headlines and no lowes common d-enominator coverage
The idea for Forth was born out of our frustration with the current news environment.
We love the format of social platforms for news but were turned off by the outrage porn we had to wade through to find it. Meanwhile, amidst industry upheaval, many newsrooms have failed to evolve with the times.
We knew there had to be a better way, so we built it ourselves.
So please join our waiting list so we can tell you about future updates, and go forth. And email us at firstname.lastname@example.org -- we’d love to hear your feedback!
